[REVIEW] Glow Up With Somethinc Glow Maker AHA BHA PHA & Supple Power Toner

I always believe that a good toner will lead to happy, healthier skin. As the first step of skincare routine after cleansing, toner may give major impact to skin as it does extra cleansing after wearing makeup or other heavy skin products, even these days I also like to do double toning as I reach mid-late of my 20s (because at this stage, production of collagen slowly reduced). Fyi, double toning means using two different toners which has different uses : exfoliating toner and hydrating toner.

Basically, Glow Maker works as the exfoliating toner while Supple Power works as hydrating toner. How good are these products and how to use them? Also how I do double toning in my skincare routine with these products? I’ll reveal the answers below so I think you might have to read this article until the end!

1. SOMETHINC GLOW MAKER AHA BHA PHA CLARIFYING TONER

What It Is :

A Mild Daily Exfoliating Toner with a low % of AHA (Glycolic Acid), BHA (Salicylic Acid), PHA (Lactobionic Acid) that is suitable for beginners or sensitive skin, with pH 3-4. Exfoliate from the skin’s deepest layer to the outermost layer. Clinically proven to get rid of dead skin cells, unclogged pores, soften skin texture, even out skin tone, removes the remaining dirt so that the skin can absorb serum + moisturizer efficiently, fight acne, blackheads & whiteheads in 30 days. It also contains Arginine, Betaine, Allantoin, Caffeine, and Anthemis Nobilis / Roman Chamomile.

This product suits for any skin type with most skin concerns: rough skin texture, uneven skin tone, blackhead, whitehead, acne prone, dull skin, and smooth wrinkles.

How To Use:

After cleansing at night, continue by applying Glow Maker Exfoliating Toner using cotton pad. Gently apply to the face and neck (can be applied on elbow, armpit, knee, back, and thigh too). Avoid eye and lip area.

REVIEW:

First of all, I really like the pump bottle form that makes me easy to soak the cotton pad without spilling it anywhere. When I read the description, it surprised me when I found out that its pH is 3-4, but hey, it’s exfoliating toner anyway. That’s why after using it at night, I continue with Supple Power to balance my skin pH back. I like how this product does a good job as exfoliating toner. It absorbs into skin pretty quick and makes my skin feels moist right after using it, feels smooth and brighter on the following day. However, after several days using this product daily, somehow I notice some new whiteheads on my skin, especially cheeks and forehead area. I searched what happened to my skin and I found out that probably it’s because this exfoliating toner is too strong to my dry skin. Maybe I should use it once or twice a week instead of daily.

PROS:

Safely sealed bottle with fancy design and decent pump form

Absorbs into skin pretty quick
Makes my skin glows and brighter the next day
Skin feels smooth and moist
Suits for any skin type (but for dry skin might be better not to use it daily)

CONS:

Might be too strong for daily usage (for my super dry skin) that's why after using this toner need to continue with Supple Power Toner.

What It Is:

REVIEW:

Supple Power works as essence + toner for me. I love how mild the texture is and makes my skin feels extra hydrated and fresh. It absorbs into my skin quickly and doesn’t leave greasy feeling. I like to use it daily in the morning and night, It’s just perfect to me! At night I apply it right after I use Glow Maker to balance back my skin pH.

Here is the before-after result after doing double toning using Somethinc Glow Maker AHA BHA PHA Exfoliating Toner and Supple Power Hydrating Toner. As you can see, my skin looks glowing and less dull. It looks healthier and rosy, although maybe you can also notice some whiteheads over there. Well, I’ll definitely keep using these products but for the Glow Maker toner, I will use it once or twice a week for maximum result!
