[REVIEW] ElsheSkin Vitamin C Serum & Lightening Night Treatment 2
Friday, November 15, 2019
When it comes to beauty product, I tend
to avoid anything that contains vitamin C as main ingredient because it usually
harm my skin either it will cause redness or white heads. OK, I know it sounds
scary especially when I am going to write a review that contains vitamin C
inside - but that means you have to read it until the end, isn’t it ? I am
going to share my honest opinion about these two products : Vitamin C Serum
and Lightening Night Treatment 2 from ELSHE SKIN , Indonesia beauty line that receives so much
love for their skincare products. Are they really worth the hype and work well
for my dry skin ? Let’s just get to know more about them !
1. VITAMIN C SERUM
What it is :
Serum that contains whitening
agent and moisturizer that is safe for skin. Skin appears brighter and
well-moisturized.
Ingredients :
Aqua, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Propylene Glycol, PEG-400,
Glycerin, Sodium Citrate, Retinyl Palmitate, Methylparaben, Citric Acid,
Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Ethylhexyl
Cocoate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Lecithin, Glycolipids, Caprylyl
Glycol, Sodium Methabisulfite, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum.
How to use :
Apply the serum evenly on the
cleansed skin.
Review :
I use this serum as my night
skincare routine. Although the packaging is just like a basic serum, I like the
pipette form, it makes me easier to take out the serum and keep it clean. It only
takes 1-2 drops to cover whole face. It doesn’t have any scent and the texture of
this serum is quite thick and sticky. It’s more like between water and gel, but
it absorbs skin pretty quick and leaves skin glowing after few days usage. Once
I use it ( together with the Night Treatment 2 Cream ) while I had few acnes on
my chin and the next day when I woke up I noticed that they calm down the
acnes! On other side, I got some redness around chin area.
Pros :
- Pipette form
- Economic ( only needs 1-2
drops to cover whole face )
- Quickly absorbs
- Leaves skin glowing
Cons :
- Basic packaging
- Thick, sticky texture
- Redness after usage
Rate : 3 out of 5
Price : IDR 225.000 (around $16) / 20mL
2. LIGHTENING NIGHT TREATMENT 2
What
it is :
Cream with active ingredients that makes
skin brighter and softer.
Ingredients
:
Aqua, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Laureth-23, Sodium
Dicocoylethylenediamide PEG-15 Sulfate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactalyte, Behenyl
Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Buthylene Glycol,
Arbutin, Citric Acid, Sodium Sulfate, Acetyl Tyrosine, Saxifraga Sarmentosa
Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract,
Glutathione, Propylrnr Glycol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP,
Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Disodium EDTA
How to use :
Apply the cream onto cleansed face evenly
after cleanser and toner. Use it 30 minutes before bed.
Review :
I use this cream daily at night before bed,
after applying Vitamin C serum. Size wise, it’s super tiny indeed, more like
travel size product (15g only) with basic plastic packaging with no seal. Its
texture is light and has slight milky scent. It’s quickly absorbed too. When I
apply onto skin, I can feel that it’s quite sticky at first but then it
disappeared. It makes my skin glowing indeed but I can’t really tell if it
makes my skin brighter. Oh, it also has cooling effect anyway, maybe because it
contains alcohol.
Pros :
- Light texture
- Quickly absorbed
- Leaves skin glowing
- Slight cooling effect
Cons :
- Basic packaging
- Scent-less
Rate : 3
out of 5
Price :
IDR 90.000 ( around $6.40 ) / 15g
Before - After Few Weeks Usage
From the picture above, I can feel that these
products makes my skin slightly glowing and brighter, also healthier. I also
amazed how the serum can calm down the acnes although I got redness in return. However,
I am pretty glad that I found a vitamin C that doesn’t harm my skin (too much),
finally!
