I didn't know what's in my mind at that moment but at first I put aside Ngong Ping from my itinerary although I spent a week in Hongkong. Lucky at the very last time I changed my mind and decided to go there, big thanks to friends who insisted to ask me to visit this place! Fyi, Ngong Ping is a highland located in Lantau Island, Hongkong and very popular because of the The Big Buddha ( Tian Tan Buddha ) and crystal cabin cable car. Let's get to know more about my first experience visiting Ngong Ping!

How to get there :
- By MTR - Bus : From MTR Tung Chung , take Exit B. Then from bus terminus next to MTR station, take Bus 23 to Ngong Ping bus terminus ( trip takes around an hour ).
- By MTR - Cable Car : From MTR Tung Chung, take Exit B and go to cable car terminal which located not far from the MTR Station. From Exit B, turn right and walk across the street for few minutes and you will find the cable car terminal ( trip takes around 25 minutes ).

View around cable car terminal

I chose to take cable car obviously, but since it was last minute trip, I didn't prepare any ticket (I usually prepare attraction/activity ticket before the trip). Long story short, I asked the staff the cable car ticket and it's around HKD$315/return ticket for crystal cabin and HKD$235/return ticket for standard cabin. Expensive? Yes. So I stepped aside and opened Klook instead. I got myself return ticket of crystal cabin for HKD$229 only! Just one click and voila! Plus, if you bought from Klook, you can skip the queue because there is special line to exchange Klook voucher with physical ticket.

I arrived in cable car terminal around 10 am and it was quite empty there, like almost no queue at all so I just exchanged my ticket and head to the cable car platform to get into the crystal cabin (I read some reviews on YouTube or blogs said that the queue line for crystal cabin is usually very long - well, lucky me!).

The view from above was so mesmerizing. Clear blue sky, beautiful mountain, sea, the trees, and Big Buddha from the crystal cabin were more than enough to make my eyes dancing. When I first stepped my feet to Ngong Ping Village, I really can't stop admiring this place. Ngong Ping is very clean, neat, and peaceful. There are quite lot of tourists either local or international,  young and old - came to this place for sightseeing or praying. They also climbed up the hundred stairs to The Big Buddha - while it's quite hard for me to catch my breath to get there (I made it anyway, lol).

Actually there are lot things to see in Ngong Ping (Wisdom Path, Tai O Village, temples, etc) but I had to catch my appointment with my friends soon, so I just spent around 2.5 hours there. I managed to see Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery at least - and I am all grateful. I have seen many beautiful things but I can say clearly that Ngong Ping is definitely one of the best place I have ever visited and suits for you who love nature. Oh, have I told you that there are many restaurants, cafe, and souvenir shops? You can easily find them along Ngong Ping Village.

Village facilities :
Disabled restroom, restroom, ticketing office, souvenir shop, baby care room, smoking area, Holidays 360 Information Centre, First Aid Room.

F&B :
Wo Kee Loong Snacks Express,  Zen Noodle CafĂ©, Honeymoon Dessert, Li-nong Tea House, Subway, Starbucks, etc.

Retail shops :
Hung Fook Pearl, Chopstick Gallery, Wooden House, 7-Eleven, HKLove, etc.

If you plan to visit Hongkong, make Ngong Ping as your top to do list. I recommend you to spend whole day here to explore the island and enjoy the breathtaking view. Take the cable car too and if you're okay with height, choose crystal cabin - later you will thank me because of following my suggestion :)
