Instagram Worthy Places in Bali

At the beginning, I used to think that I should put #SummerinBali as the title of this blog post, but then I realized that my last summer vacation in Bali with my sister and friends were more like cafe-hopping rather than just traveling. Slightly different with our last year's visit, this time we only went to areas like Seminyak and Canggu. Well, we're actually doing that on purpose since these days Lombok-Bali aren't that safe because of the earthquake incident - moreover, we also have pregnant mom with us. That's why, here I enlisted some instagram worthy places in Bali that I've visited for the past 3 days, you might love them all!

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL - KUTA

1. MONSIEUR SPOON, PETITENGET
We arrived in Bali quite late, like around 6 p.m so there's nothing much to do unless we're going to stay up all night until sun rises ( which is impossible - I am not a party people anyway ). After we checked in at our hotel in Seminyak, we stopped by in Petitenget at one of my favorite patisserie and cafe which has so many branches in Bali, Monsieur Spoon. Usually they have so many variants of pastries but our bad we came too late so we only had few options. I decided to try their Charcoal Croissant, Chocolate Croissant ( of course my sister was the one who ordered this, you know how much I'm against chocolate, right ? ) , and Baguette Ham Butter. At first, I thought the Charcoal Croissant would be tasted so plain but it's actually not! It tasted so yummy, the texture is so soft inside and still crispy outside. I sprinkle brown sugar on top of my croissant and it tasted even better!

Since I was too addicted with Monsieur Spoon's croissants, I decided to come back for the second time before we left to Surabaya. It's still early in the morning so there were so many options to choose! But then I ended up bought my all time favorite Almond Croissant and it's still the best among all !

Baguette Ham Butter, actually they changed the bun since they ran of stock at that time, but it tasted so good anyway, heaven of ham!

2. POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB, KUTA
Some of you might familiar with this beach club or probably have been visited this place before, since Potato Head can be considered as the pioneer of beach club in Bali. So I went there with my group after having late dinner at Laota, famous Chinese restaurant in Kuta. Frankly, this was my first time visiting beach club since I had that mindset that beach club usually packed with party people and loud noise - but I was wrong. Potato Head Beach Club was so quiet and calm when I came. I didn't order alcohol obviously, so I just enjoyed my fusion tea while almost everyone there had their drinks, lol. What I remembered the most about this beach club is the architecture and the interior, they are so artsy and cute with only using recycled items like wooden windows and tons of swallows sandals ( rubber sandals ) but unfortunately the lighting was so bad there so it's hard for me to take any picture.

DAY 2 : CANGGU - SEMINYAK

1. NALU BOWLS, CANGGU
Traveling to Bali doesn't feel perfect if you haven't tried Bali's first smoothie bowl, Nalu Bowls. We went to Canggu early in the morning just to have breakfast in Nalu Bowls Dojo. This was my second visit actually and so far, there's no other smoothie bowl that can beat Nalu Bowls's. I ordered Mavericks, the signature menu from Nalu Bowls which consists of acai blend topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, coconut flakes, and honey. Everything blends perfectly, not too sweet and not too sour, just decent !

2. MAD POPS, CANGGU
It's never too early to have ice cream, especially for my favorite vegan ice cream in Bali, Mad Pops ! If you have read on my latest post on my Bali trip last year, I've mentioned Mad Pops that I had in Seminyak. While this time I had in Canggu and I really recommend this place over the one in Seminyak because it's more spacious and has more variant of ice cream. I really love the super soft texture of this coconut ice cream and how light the taste is, feels like no guilty at all even if you have two scoops !

3. MILU BY NOOK, CANGGU
Lunch ( or brunch ) surrounded by rice field, this is how to describe the vibe in Milu by Nook. Bringing natural, rustic concept, this place would be the perfect option to chill and enjoy the nature while having western or asian dishes with beloved ones ( well, for me, with my besties for sure ). For you guys who really like to take OOTD picture, this place is literally yours because there are so many photo spot that you would love. Anyway, they're not just cafe and resto though, they also sell variants of handycrafts inside like woven bags, rattan, etc.

4. COFFEE CARTEL, SEMINYAK
We had food coma obviously. That's why we went back to hotel to take a rest for an hour before we continuing to the next destination which located not far from our hotel, Coffee Cartel. I had no idea about this cafe at first because everything looks common besides the pink mural beside the cafe, until we asked for the signature drink there, the famous Chai Latte - which has pretty soft pink color, served with golden tea spoon and pink cup as well. We can actually asked for the latte art and at that time, all I thought was just "Girls On Top", ok, sounds a little bit too much but hey, this is to encourage all girls too and reminds us that we could be anything we want because we all precious, don't you agree with me ?

5. RAYJIN, SEMINYAK
This dining bar may not included as instagram worthy place, but this restaurant literally creates a great memory in my mind and makes me want to come back to this place. Rayjin is well-known for their teppanyaki and their great services. Once we arrived in the restaurant, all the waiters welcomed us warmly and they gave us wet hand towel so that we can clean our hands first. The vibe inside the restaurant is super cozy and warm, minimum lighting but quite spacious so I like it ! Well, right after we sat down and the waiter came to us, I asked for their recommended menu of course, and my choice fell to Chicken Teriyaki Sambal Matah with Pesto Dressing. Here I tell you, this is the best chicken teriyaki I've ever tried so far ! The combination between Japanese-Indonesian-Western are just perfect ! The portion is decent enough for one person and the plating is amazing. Two thumbs up for Rayjin :)

DAY 3 : SEMINYAK - JIMBARAN - DEPARTURE

1. MOTEL MEXICOLA, SEMINYAK
We didn't do much activity since it's our last day at Bali so we just strolled around Seminyak and then stopped by at this well-known mexican restaurant, Motel Mexicola. To be honest, this place is not my type but I must say that the concept is super cool because everything is well-decorated with mexican theme and neon lights. Unfortunately, we came there on daylight and all the aircons were turned-off at that time and the weather was quite warm as well so yeah, you can imagine how was it. At this restaurant, somehow I lost my appetite ( most probably because of the weather ), so only my sister and my friend ordered the foods and drinks. Later after that, I just asked my group that I wanted to buy ice cream, then I ended up again at Mad Pops, this time in Seminyak and I ordered 2 scoops ( guess I am a Mad Pops maniac, huh ? ).

2. AYANA RESORT & RIMBA BY AYANA, JIMBARAN
After having quick brunch at Sisterfields Seminyak ( I've ever reviewed this restaurant on my last post in Bali last year ), we intend to visit Rockbar which located in Ayana Resort Bali, Jimbaran. Once again, unfortunately Rockbar hasn't opened yet at that time ( they opened at 4 pm while we came around 2 pm ). However, we couldn't just go back right ? So we just strolled around the resort for a while and visited their famous Rimba Jimbaran by Ayana before we're leaving to airport. Oh anyway, once you entered Ayana's area, you must take note that carrying backpack is prohibited there.

Some of you may wonder why I didn't even try any traditional food in Bali, well, I did obviously ! I had Nasi Ayam Bali at Bu Oki which located in Jimbaran. The portion is consistently big and it's super tasty - and spicy, although we asked to separate the sambal already, however the spicy level is still decent enough. There, I also tried one of Bali's traditional snack aka 'jajan pasar' with only 6K / $0.40 and it tastes so sweet, but not too much !

Finally this post has come to an end. Those are list of places that I visited in Bali for 3 days and I hope you find this post helpful. Probably you can put them on your list for your next Bali trip, especially Monsieur Spoon, Nalu Bowls, Mad Pops if you're desserts lover and Rayjin if you're more into fine dining :)

See you on next summer, Bali!
